Import products with a feed, a file, or by hand

On any other platform, bring your catalog in from a feed link or a CSV/JSON file — and add single products by hand on any store.

Before you start, you need:

  • An active Seyaq plan. To use a feed or a file, the store must be set up for another platform.
  • Your products in a CSV or JSON file, or at a feed link: a web address that returns them as a JSON list with the template's column names.
  • Your store's own web address. Products you add by hand must link to pages on it.

Not on Salla, Shopify or WooCommerce? Give Seyaq your catalog as a feed link that it reads daily, or as a file you upload. On any store, you can also add single products by hand.

Import a feed or a file#

  1. Save your store link on the Connect store page

Open the Connect store page from the sidebar. Type your store's address, for example shop.sa, and press Save store link.

  2. Download a template and fill it in

On the same page, press Sample CSV or Sample JSON. Keep the column names, and add one product per row.

  3. Upload the file, or save a feed link

    • A file: press Upload CSV / JSON and choose your .csv or .json file. It imports straight away and shows how many products were added and updated.
    • A feed link: paste the link to your JSON product list in the Product feed link field, then press Save feed link. Seyaq reads it now, then every day.
  4. Check the result in the Store data sync section

The product count and the Recent syncs list show each import. A failed import shows its error underneath. After an upload, rows that couldn't be imported are listed under the upload button with the reason: the first five, then how many more. The valid rows are already imported, so fix the listed rows and upload the whole file again.

The file's columns#

The first row holds the column names, exactly as in the template. Only handle and price are required.

ColumnWhat to put in it
handleRequired. A unique ID in English letters, digits and dashes, such as cotton-throw-pillow. Seyaq matches products by it.
priceRequired. A number with no currency symbol or thousands separator, such as 145.50.
title_en, title_arThe product name in English and Arabic.
desc_en, desc_arThe description in English and Arabic.
urlThe product's page on your own store.
image_urlsUp to 10 image links. In a CSV file, separate them with |. A row with more than 10 is rejected.
stockThe quantity in stock. Empty means 0.
category, category_arThe category name, and its Arabic name.
brandThe brand name.
statusactive (default), draft (hidden from AI assistants) or archived, in lowercase.
currencyA three-letter code such as SAR. Empty means your store's currency.
external_idYour own product ID, for example from another system.

Add a product by hand#

Use this for single items, or for products your store sync doesn't bring in. It works on any store, connected or not.

  1. Open the Products page from the sidebar and press Add product

Screenshot from the Seyaq dashboard (demo store)
  2. Fill in the three required fields

    • A title, in the Title (English) or Title (Arabic) field. Filling in both languages scores better.
    • The price, in your store's currency.
    • The Product page link field: the page on your own store where the product is sold. AI assistants send buyers there to buy.
  3. Add the details you have

Descriptions, image links (https, one per line, up to 10), stock, SKU, brand, an existing category and a URL name (optional) make the product more complete.

  4. Choose the status and press Save product

Choose Active — visible to AI assistants, or Draft — hidden while you're still preparing the product.

Products you add here carry the Added here label. To change one, press Edit on its row. The Delete product button is in the same form. Synced products can't be edited in Seyaq: change them in your store, then sync again.

Keep your catalog up to date#

  • Feed link: Seyaq reads it every day. To read it now, press Sync products. Switching to files? Press Remove feed link. The daily refresh stops, and your products stay.
  • File: upload the whole file again whenever your catalog changes.
  • Each file or feed counts as your complete catalog. Active products missing from it are archived and leave your AI-readable catalog. Products added by hand stay, unless an import brings in one with the same handle. In that case, the imported version replaces it.
  • Active products count toward your plan's product limit, and so does every product added by hand, drafts included. An import over the limit stops at the limit and says so in the Store data sync section. Compare plans.
  • After the first import, your store becomes active. Once your products have categories, Seyaq starts your first audit automatically. To add your product data to your storefront too, see Make your store readable by AI tools.

If something doesn't work#

What you seeWhat to do
No product row in the file could be read. Check the column names against the template and try again.Compare the first row with the template. The column names, such as handle and price, must match, and a CSV file must use commas.
Some rows "could not be imported"Fix the reason shown for each row, then upload again. Common reasons: an empty handle or price, a price that isn't a number, or a repeated handle.
The feed's sync shows FailedRead the error under it. Check that the link opens without a login, responds within a few seconds and returns a JSON list of products with the template's column names. Then press Sync products.
Add your store's web address on the Connect store page first — product links must point to your own store.Save your store link on the Connect store page, then add the product again.
"The product page link must be on your own store"Use the product's link on the domain you saved as your store link.
A message that your plan includes up to a set number of productsDelete a hand-added product you no longer need, or set products in your file to draft or archived and upload again. Or compare plans. Hand-added drafts still count.
